Resolve section

Howdy all,

Is it time for DVXuser to have a section for Resolve? I know that there is a BMCuser group, but I think Resolve deserves a section here as well. Vegas and Edius (does anyone still use either of those two?) have sections, but no Resolve which is probably the NLE with the most growth and has become a force within the NLE options. It's time IMHO

Indeed, it's time.
Apparently Resolve is used by more people than Edius and Vegas, both of which have sections here.
Yes, there are other forums, yet, the only forum dealing with cinematography I visit daily is this one, dvxuser, and I prefer keeping it this way.

Here's another vote for a separate Resolve section. As BM continues to add editing features, Fairlight and Fusion, plus a free version which will meet the needs of many, I think the user base will continue to grow.

I'm not a big user of it myself, but even I can clearly see that of all the upcoming NLEs that Resolve has the brightest future ahead.

Though I recently bought FCPX etc. I have been trying and very much liking version 15 on the hackintosh I built at the beginning of the new year. So it would be awesome to learn from others who are using it.

I'll probably be switching over to Resolve for all of my editing, it would be nice to see a section dedicated solely to Resolve on this site.

Resolve from 13 to 15 has made leaps to make the software NLE ready as opposed to just being a color correction and grading tool.
I only edit in Resolve now.

There never was a Resolve 13, they jumped from 12.5 to 14 … 😊
Yes, Resolve now is a full featured NLE.

I'm starting to use Resolve
It seems to be a huge resource hog (with added complaints about speed).
The manual is bigger than an unabridged dictionary with vague, rambling directions.
The Edius is forum is dead.
We definitely need to share our experiences.

Agreed. If you don’t pay for your creative cloud subscription long enough they start sending you offers for $20 a month instead of the usual $50 price. Pass, I’ve
now switched over to doing my work in Resolve, and I’m on the free version. I’ll switch to the paid version in the fall, certain features are missing in the free
version that I really need.

There was some demand for a color grading forum section a while ago, it was determined there were other forums with the expertise more suited for it. But now, I think everyone here is right. With everything resolve offers now, I’d love to be able to have this kind of resource within our community. And this is the place for it.

As for the manual, it’s even more impressive when it’s printed out. Even at 2 pages a side. :cheesy: You can’t search the print, but is been super helpful to me for retaining and bookmarking information and has made my switch to resolve very smooth. RTFM as they say!

Having used FCP, AVID and mostly Premiere, Resolve is pretty impressive to me, and I’m sure more people will adopt it now that this version is out. Another reason to have this section!
