Resolution Help!

yeah this is a grab from what I shot... it seems the resolution or something isn't right. I use Pinnacle Studio Pro for editing and Adobe After Effects for added special effects. I export the movie in .avi from Pinnacle, then I export it in Quicktime from After Effects. So, what's the problem?

Are you exporting using the DV codec both ways?

And do you have anything that isn't so dark? If anything you need to light your footage a little more...

Hm.. let me check on the dv settings thanks! and yeah i know I was just testing a dark film look

Still doesn't look strange to me. Needs more light, but I don't see a resolution problem.

Well what happens is with digital when it gets into the "blacks" the chips can't distinguish between the darker shades that our eye can, and it pixelates areas, to put it jargon less. Check your camera setting to make sure detail setting is set to Thing, not medium or thick, to ensure you getting all 480 lines of resolution versus 400 or 360+/-
.

What was your F-Stop- don't you start losing resolution around f/16-f/22?
