Resident Evil: Afterlife

I would just like to know what Umbrella hopes to accomplish by trying to rule a dead world.

As for a reboot, I'd love an actual adaptation of the first game. An elite forces unit storms a remote mansion filled with zombies, giant bees, killer plants, monsters, and a mutated shark. It has the makings of a great monster movie.

Umbrella didn't start the infection in the films -- it was Milla's fake BF, remember? Umbrella was engineering bio weapons, one of which was the T-virus. They never meant for it to be released.

I agree, though. No franchise has needed a reboot more since 1960s Batman. I think this series of films has been a unique interpretation of the source material, but I think it may have run its course, or soon should.

Unfortunately they're not doing any better representing the franchise on the CGI anime side. Degeneration was cool because it actually took place in the game universe, but like with most anime, the script just didn't hold up -- and now they're making another one (being released this year I believe) that's continuing to follow Leon (blah). Looks like Chris Redfield will be making an appearance, but I'm not holding my breath for it to be any better than Degeneration or (god...) FFVII: Advent Children.
