Resetting Timecode/Capturing

Como's back. back again
I did a search and couldn't find anything on how to reset your timecode. I have about 47 minutes left on my tape, and i wanna go and shoot some stuff, and practise some batch capturing in FCP 6.

How can i reset my time code? Or can you only reset it at the beginning?

Also, I am using a 4000 tape deck to capture my footage with. It is a SONY DV CAM HDV, it can capture 1080 60i, 108050i, its really cool, i'm using it here at coop. It's both PAL and NTSC. Can i put my panasonic tape in it and capture, and put the tape back in my camera with no problem?

if you want to successfuly batch capture using timecode spread out over the whole tape then use the end search function on the dvx to perfectly line up the playhead with the end of the timecode. i dont remember off the top of my head how to reset the timecode but i think it's under recording functions.

by "setting timecode" you mean starting tapes at custom times correct???
ie. 02:00:00;00
