Ok i bought a used dvx and i'm having problems with pink/purple/red bleeding in my picture.purple looks like pink and pink is wayyyy too hot, and red is too. even orange. also some problems with the zoom in 60i, occasionally it groans at full zoom.

would it hurt to press the reset button?

I've never tried it..however it is to my understanding that the reset button will restore everything to the DVX original settings. The button exists for some reason..so give it a try..see what happens.

I've done it three times since owning and it hasn't exploded yet.

reset and the colors dont seem as hot, but i still have a zoom groaning problem in 60i auto.

i found the problem is not in the zoom, but in the autofocus. in 60i mode when it trys to autofocus, it wll make these loud groans and the number will switch rapidly, only when zoomed in too far
