Is there a way to reset all the DVX100A circuitery ?

i'm not speaking about resetting the scene files in the menu 1-scene files/save/initial or 7-other functions/user file reset.

I'm looking for a Reset All data...

I just found that my picture is a lot sharper with "mid" (V Detail Freq) setting than with "Thin" or "Thick". Is it normal ?

NOt an expert, but I don't know of any way to recet the dvx circuitry. You obviously know how to reset the scene files, what else did you want to reset? Actually come to think of it, there probably isn't any way to reset the whole camera, as that would erase the hours meter as well. Did you do something bad to your camera?

Re: "RESET ALL" on the DVX100A

If you could reset the number of hours on the heads it would be a problem. So no, there is not.

Re: "RESET ALL" on the DVX100A

On the 100A(can't speak for the 100) there is a reset button in between the speaker and the shutter button. I do not believe it resets any of the settings. Oh, the manual says: (all of this read this I'm sure)

RESET BUTTON:
....This will reset the system microcomputer.
Even after resetting has been initiated, the entered setting menu values and memory contents will not be erased.
Refrain from pressing the reset button when the camera recorder is operating properly.

well thats nice to know, this is such a terrible manual.... anyway, their you go...

Re: "RESET ALL" on the DVX100A

OK,

my DVX100A produces really beautifull images and works Great.

I just wonder WHY the image is so much sharper with "mid" V Detail
than "thick" and "Thin" in progressive mode.

Maybe it is just normal.

Can someone try it with his DVX100A ?

thanks

Re: "RESET ALL" on the DVX100A

Are you viewing this on an interlaced TV, or on a computer monitor?

I'm talking out of my hat right now, but it's possible that MID would look sharper on an interlaced TV than THIN would, because MID still includes some interlace line blending whereas THIN eliminates it all, and thus will suffer from more artifacting.

But if you export a still image and view it in PhotoShop, you should definitely see higher resolution from the THIN file than from the MID file. If you don't, that's awfully curious...

Re: "RESET ALL" on the DVX100A

Barry,

yeah, that's curious...

but in the end it looks great...

it looks sharper with "mid" setting on my interlaced TV AND on my computer screen.

...and the "mid" setting shows the very same hi-res artifact, just looks sharper than "thin", and A LOT sharper than "thick"...

so i'm little confused...
