Here's a 60 second video from 19 years ago, that I was able to "rescue"..... It was shot on Hi8 and cut on the old EVO-9700.

Ha! I had one of those 9700 editors! And a CCD-V5000 camera. Man, that was a great Hi8 camcorder!

I'm jealous of the camera you had! Even after all this time! I was using a Canon A1 Mark II, often balanced on top of an old Steadicam JR if you can believe it. Still have the Steadicam - although I've hacked it up and now it sometimes carries my GH2.

Ha! I had one of those 9700 editors! And a CCD-V5000 camera. Man, that was a great Hi8 camcorder!

And today I still use our v5000! Well parts of it.. I removed its adjustable shoulder pad and used it on my DIY DSLR rig!

Hah that was hilarious! Made me sort of pine for my hi-8 camera. Had so much fun shooting with it, and probably violating all rules of proper filmmaking without a care in the world.

I think I'm going to look on craigslist to see if anyone is throwing out a video toaster system.
