Replica police badge?

I need a realistic-looking police badge for my new feature 'Tangled Web'. I need the kind that's worn on the belt, preferably gold tone.

Any good, inexpensive places to get these? Cheapest I've seen so far is about $60, but I'm hoping to do better. No luck on Ebay.

Thanks!

As you can imagine, realistic-looking badges are hard to come by for some very good reasons. But try a military surplus store, they should have affordable "security" badges etc; might have something like what you're looking for.

Yeah, surplus stores are usually cheaper. I happen to own a real police badge, but that is something I don't break out for filming very often.

Just find a Civil Services Provider in your area,,, You know, those store where cops, fireman , and EMS guys buy boots and uniforms.... They sell real badges that can be marked for stage purposes so you don't go around frisking all the cuties in the neighborhood...

I'm sure it's for the right reasons......whatever the 'right' reason might be. :-)

I actually own a great looking goldtone SECURITY badge -- a sergeant's badge, in fact. But since the character is supposed to be a police detective, I don't want to run the risk of the audience being able to make out the word 'SECURITY' on the face of the badge.

I did see some badges for sale that were discontinued badge styles -- authentic badges (I suppose), but not the current style in use by the particular force they once belonged to. I guess that would be a legit reason, eh?

Now.....to find some authentic looking handcuffs, complete with the belt pouch...

BTW, once this movie is finished, I may be looking to SELL these items -- the badge, the handcuffs with pouch, and a couple of replica pistols. If anybody's in the market. :-)
