replacing the lcd ribbon and hinge... help!?

ok.. my lcd ribbon broke. (the little ribbon in between the lcd and the dvx) i only noticed it once it broke...

anyway. i ordered the replacement part. you have to order the whole hinge and ribbon assembly as one part. i though i could put it together myself being the super technical kind a guy i am. but alas... it's just a bit out of my league.

has anyone done this before?

I was just wondering if you were able to resolve the problem. I have a similar problem and will have to replace the hinge.
