Replacing a DVX100B lens?

Is there any way to actually replace a DVX100B's internal lens? We have two DVX's, one of which stopped working, and the other has a scratch on its lens.

Maybe this is insane, but I'd like to put the clean lens in the working camera. Has anyone done this?

Amen,
Toby

Hey,

If the warranty is expired, you can do it yourself, if you know how, but I wouldn't advise it.

To replace a lens, Panasonic Service Center charges two hours for labor, so they'll charge you around 300.00 (150 per hour).

Call them up and ask them what's involved in changing the lens. I think after you change the lens you have to refous and realign the lens and you need special tools for it. Again, this is what I've been told, I could be wrong. The best thing to do is call them up and try to get a pansonic tech on the phone.

All the best.
