I've been creeping this board for months and just wanted to thank everyone for (as someone else said) the insane amount of compressed knowledge contained in here. Couldn't have made the decision without pouring over nearly every thread in this group. One image in particular that really sold me was Hunter Hampton's "Unthink".. the beach stuff- shooting into direct sun and the CCD just soaking it up like emulsion. Thanks to Ed David for saving the latest firmware (and pdf instructions) and providing some great examples of what this old girl can do.
So I'm 99% there- my Sony BKP-L551 v-mount plate is damaged. Waiting on B&H to send a replacement but wondering if you guys had any ideas. It may be hard to see but the plastic piece that ensures the pins seat correctly up into the battery has popped out on one side. So I get no juice unless I hold it up with my finger or brilliantly wedge a flathead to force the clip up. I tried cracking open that assembly but I don't have a mini phillips that can untorque the bizarrely overtightened screws.

Also- anyone know what millimeter grub screws I need to mount the assistant panel bracket to the L-handle? Searched the Sony parts finder but didn't see anything. Figure I can find two screws elsewhere/amazon/some old electronics I have laying around.

Last but not least I am missing the locking nut for the 24v output. Right now it would sink into the body if I tried plugging in. No idea when I'll need 24v accessories but I guess some lens control systems or power distro boxes would require it? Again I searched Sony's part finder but it's not clear what locking nut I need.

Thanks in advance for any ideas on the above and a huge thank you again to all those who contribute their time helping people understand this camera system. It all seemed super intimidating and immensely complex at first but after spending time with it and finally getting my first 12bit DPXs in its a truly simple camera. It's fun knowing you're getting a solid film-like image which helps you focus on other components to the story. Looking forward to sharing some footage soon and contributing something back to this corner of dvx.
