Replacement parts for FX9

Does anyone know how to contact Sony for FX9 replacement parts? I seem to have misplaced (lost???) my grip arm and don't see anything on the web. I know- How the hell do you lose that? Well I wish I could tell you , but so far its missing.

In the US, you could contact Sony directly through this web page: https://www.servicesplus.sel.sony.com/sony-parts.aspx
I just searched on FX9 and grip and got a dozen(ish) of results. Though you may need to email or call to finalize the purchase.

I suspect you might get a faster response if you contact your dealer. Though that may depend on the dealer, and might just be wrong.

Jim, how did you word your search? I didn't find hardly anything. I found one grip and one arm but not sure either even has the screws to connect them .

Thanks Jim, I tried the parts site and they do show a "Grip Assembly " for about $500. which is better than I expected Unfortunately no pictures to show what's included . Should have an exploded view of the FX9 showing parts.

Like this image. The bummer is, I didn't see parts numbers in the FX9 catalog, so maybe take the part number generated from the Sony parts site, and do a google image search? The "Grip Assembly" appears to be the actual grip with buttons, but not the arm. I might be wrong, though...

Seriously: Ask your dealer to make you happy. :)

“Should have an exploded view of the FX9 showing parts.”

I was informed by a Sony rep that Sony does not provide such a thing to the public for fear of parts being copied. The rep would only send me a parts diagram of a specific area of the camera.

Sony does not make it easy to obtain replacement parts. You have to communicate with a parts-rep who will guide you to the part #, then register with Sony Pro in order to purchase through Sony. I attempted to register and had difficulty doing so. A Sony rep said in effect “yeah, our site has difficulty with Safari, try a different browser.”

As for your replacement need, Lenny, I would just purchase a grip assembly off eBay. There are 3 listed for sale on eBay at time of my writing.

I am in contact with Sony parts . They sent me 3 exploded parts diagrams that would be great if wanted to put the whole thing together from about 50 pieces. "Please indicate which part you need" but no image of a full arm or grip . Pretty clueless really . Kind of surprised me. They do have something called a Grip Assy that is quite reasonable but no pics to show what it includes. I have a guy there researching it for me. I didn't see 3 on ebay . Some are FS7. One guy is selling the arm and grip separately but won't answer my question as to whether they include the screws to puit them together. Same for another place selling just the grip. Frankly I'd rather buy from Sony so i can return in case mine shows up. I still haven't gotten my last client to let me come back and search the location which is the most likely spot for it.
Sony must be able to sell a new arm and grip. Maybe I'll try contacting repair but they have outsourced a lot of stuff that they used to do themselves and killed customer service when they fired their great reps.

No help from Sony parts , and despite the client telling me she looked and it wasn't there and giving me no help in getting back myself, I did get to revisit the location & found the arm in about 1 and 1/2 sec in plain site with my labels all over it. Alls well that ends well.

Marco Sony parts did get back to me today with a price for the arm and grip as separate but full assembled units. It was a lot cheaper than buying the same parts on the web from someone in China. The web was as I recall about $350 for the Arm and $750 + for the grip. Sony is around $500 for the grip and $260 for the arm . Interesting!
So all in all - good customer service from Sony. Nice to be able to say that.
