replacement in-line switch for 1K light?

I just bought a used Desisti 1K fresnel for cheap, but the catch is that I have to wire it myself (I believe it was a studio light, with a bates connector or twist lock, which has been stripped). I would like to add an in-line switch, but I can't seem to find a reliable source. I'm assuming that I'm looking for 10amp in-line switch, but I'm not getting many results... Any suggestions?

BTW, I've done this before with a 650 Desisti fresnel.

Oh, also, bonus question:

I also need to replace the yoke to stand adapter. When I asked about this previously I was told to search for a TVMP adapter, but it looks like the bolt is smaller then it needs to be to fit on the 1K. I don't have exact measurements, but I could try if that helps.

Just don't get the Matthews one with the little thumbscrew. Get an avenger or similar with a T-handle - you'll thank me on set for that...

Thanks guys.

One more questions: any reason not to just cap off the bare wire cumming from the light with a Edison plug, and then just put the inline switch in the middle of an extension cable? Sounds like I'll get the same result, just have a little more flexibility with use and repair?

As long as you get the wiring correct that should be fine, and you'd have an in-line switch you could use, say, when you have a light rigged way up on a ceiling or something. Just keep everything grounded and you should be fine.

Get a good edison male - one with solid screw-on wiring contacts and a strain relief, that stuff takes a beating on set and someone will always try to unplug it by yanking the cord...

The only minor problem with that is that now you have a connection dangling in the air that could come apart if you don't do something to stop it from coming apart (easy).

You could buy a complete cord with switch and Edison for many of the different Lowel lights, cost you about $40 I think. The newer switches are pretty decent and less likely to break than the older Bakelight plastic.

I think this is heavy enough for a 1K, but check to make certain:

Just pull the end off or better might be to cut the fixture and install one of their high temp sockets.
