When my two P2 cards are mounted on my PSX desktop, they're called "No Name". Can I rename the cards to "P2 Card 1" and "P2 Card 2", just so I can know which is which when mounted?
In Windows you can name the card when formatting it on the computer. I don't remember for sure if the Mac offers the same capability, but I think it doesn't.
Have you used the P2 Format Station on the Mac? (is there one, even?) Or P2CMS -- does P2CMS let you format cards?
Yes you can rename the mounted P2 card on a Mac without any issues, as long as your mounting from a PCMCIA slot. Not while in the camera. You can also name it when reformating with the latest Pasasonic P2Formatter software on their download site.
The P2CMS software works very welll for previewing clips as well. It does have some issue's with the lastclip.txt file on export with some versions.
