Removing flash frames???

Hey Guys, I'm new to shooting video on the D90 and new to Final Cut. Shot some stuff in very low light and I'm having a problem with "flashed" frames. When I freeze them there's a band of the frame that is 3x to 5x brighter then it should be. It's just one frame and it only repeats every 15 seconds or so. It's only a problem on a very few clips.

Not sure I'm using the right jargon. "Glitchy?"

Thanks in advance,

Yeah did you shoot in a disco or were people snapping stills? I remove those when necessary by simply blending the previous and next frames, or repeating one of them and grading it lighter if i want to keep the strobe effect but over the entire frame.

Disco lights and snapping stills. Thanks for the tip, I'm going to try blending out the flashed frames. I'm wondering if it's only a problem when you don't engage the AE lock. I was running and gunning that night, hoping the camera would automatically compensate for everything, not locking the exposure. Maybe a flash or a disco laser could have reset the cameras exposure for a single frame? My understanding is this wouldn't happen if exposure was locked.
Thanks again.

always a problem. no way around it. the shutter is simply too slow. when it reaches the last line the flash is already gone.

oh, sorry i guess what i meant to say i thought his problem was was actually the camera adjusting exposure on its own, i didnt really mean rolling shutter.

doh
