Removal of NOISE and MACRO BLOCKS from HVX and DVX footage solved!!!!!!!

Is there any reason to think this new FCP version won't work exactly as well as the other versions (AE, etc.)?

Hopefully they work the same, but it's worth checking. AE offers hardware acceleration through the GPU, so I'm curious to find out how the performance is on FCP.

This is great.

People who have this plugin never ***** about noise in the HD cameras anymore.

I'm pretty happy about the plugin but the only downside is the time it takes to render out.

I for one have been waiting for this....

I'm pretty happy about the plugin but the only downsize is the time it takes to render out.
In the case of render times, I would keep this tool for use after the edit is done. Then run it like any other finalizing process.

Is this optimized for multicore processing in FCP the way it is in AE? If not, you're going to spend considerably more time in FCP waiting for things to render. On an 8-core machine with enough RAM, the AE version really shines. On 1920x1080 footage, I'm getting about .3x real time... totally acceptable, especially if you're just doing it as part of your finishing process once picture is locked. I find RAM previews are also a lot more intuitive for tweaking settings and seeing results than rendering out chunks of your timeline in FCP.

I can see the appeal of having it in FCP for smaller projects though, especially if (like me) you don't have Automatic Duck.

Amazing plugin, though. Has made some noisy HV20 footage look like a million bucks (works wonders on the XHA1 too).

I'm surprise by the quality of this plug-in!! Sure it's gonna be mine soon :p

I cannot tell you how happy I am to see this come to the Mac. "Picture" suffers from some noise in the mid range in some low light shots that drives me crazy. I've tried other filters with varying degrees of success. Came out alright for TwilightFest, but is quite noticeable full size or on an HD screen. Can't wait to give this a go on the rough spots.

Anyone knows if it will be compatible with FCP5? Probably not, so my new system and software should maybe arrive here a little bit sooner...

If memory serves, the plug-in architecture is different between FCP5 and FCP6, making it difficult to support backwards capability.

If you check out the front of the this forum you will see some pictures and video.

Ill be posting my whole short film shot on the HVX202. I have run the filter over the whole film. Will keep you posted

Nice! I checked the previous pages of this thread all ready, but the more the better :)
I updated my system to FCP 6 for a lot of reasons, but manly cause I wanted to use this plug-in, I checked the demo and I love it! Mine, mine, mine

Yeah I'm still using it. It also leave a nice defuse on the face of my actors depending on the type of adjustment I use in Neatvideo

they have great tech support. in my experience it removes a lot of video noise, but softens the frame a little bit. i havent messed around with it too much but its really easy to use.
