Remote zoom control on HVX gone bad?

Hi everyone. I have an HXX200a... Ive been using a Libec zoom control / start stop unit.
At the last shoot when I zoom wide... it starts or stop recording.... So I switched wires... same thing... purchased new control... same thing. I actually had a chance to test on another hvx and a 170 today... both work fine.....

the question is... anyone have this problem before? and besides taking to Panasonic ( my last resort) does anyone have recommendations?"

Thanks in advance

Nava

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "switched wires" but if you are referring to the plugs that connect to your IRIS/FOCUS input jack and the ZOOM/S.S jack, those are different sizes. IRIS takes 3.5 mm plug while ZOOM takes 2.5 mm plug. If these were switched you would have had to forcefully push and (most likely break) one of the jacks on the camera. Maybe this is not what you meant?

Yes... Im aware of the wire differences... by "WIRES" i meant the WIRE from the paddle controller to the camera.... It appears to be a ribbon problem... I was just wondering if anyone would chime in having had the same experience.

This is what I meant:
