Remote tripod control for AF100

The title of the first listing says Panasonic, but the description says it's a LANC controller, which doesn't work with the Panasonic system of two analog remote jacks. I would probably avoid that one.

I use this VariZoom controller with my AF100:

The zoom lever is irrelevant without a servo zoom lens to control, but the other functions (iris, focus, start-stop) work great with native M43 lenses that have electronic controls. With a manual lens at least you can still start and stop the recording.

Other people are happy with the Libec and Manfrotto controllers. All of these are way more expensive than that eBay item, though.

If all you need is start-stop control, and are a little handy with soldering or know someone who is, there are plans in the DIY section here from a couple of years back for a satisfactory homebrew solution. Just a plug, a couple of resistors and a switch are required. The hardest part is coming up with a sturdy and convenient way to enclose and mount it.

EDIT: I just noticed that the second eBay item in your message has a "LANC/P" (P for Panasonic, I presume) switch on the side and claims to work with both systems. That one might be worth checking out.

Thank you. Just one more question before I can choose the right remote. The remote for what other Panasonic cameras will work with the AF100? Just because I see remotes that work with 180A, 130 AC, HMC153... and I don't know if these will work with my AF100
 
The Panasonic remote control hardware and protocols have not changed through several generations of camcorders. At least (from my direct experience), all the HMC, HPX, PX, AF and AC series cameras work with the same remotes. (I don't go back as far as the DVX100, but I believe it's compatible also.) So if a product description says that it will work with an AC90/AC130/AC160/HMC15x or whatever, it should be fine with the AF100 as well.
