Peter, would it be possible to post the instruction manual as a .pdf online? I like to take a closer look at some of the features.

Thats a spec sheet, not the manual.

I do have the manual as a multipage PDF but it is 30mb. I know nothing about PDF compression, but i will have a go at making it smaller for you.

Pete.

Just received a call from Peter with some disturbing news about the distributors mark-up. Suffice to say he (Peter) is rather upset at the mark-up being made by the distributor and that he thinks this may have a detrimental effect on the supply and sales of Hocus Focus products.

Not wanting to go into any details on this as I don't know where Peter stands legally with the distributor. I'm sure Peter will make a statement sooner rather than later.

Dissapointed....a wee bit.

but I'm sure Peter will eventually sort this out.

Regards

Rich Steel

i hope Pete sets up his own ordering system with reasonable profits and will start selling
hofo soon. Because if the price will go to 2000$, i'm sure 90% of clients will just fall
off... 300$ initial price was nice, but i'm willing to pay up to 1000$, but no more...

Unfortunately, the price structure (for the first batch at least) is from what I understand outwith Peters control. The distributor has set a price of £2000+VAT for a complete system. Whether they sell them for that, who knows?

As I said. I'm sure Peter will update us as to the situation about purchasing directly. I don't know if there were any clauses put in place for Peter to stop selling.

It will all come out in the wash.

So....

A UK distributor bought an ammount of units, to sell within the UK and Europe. The plan was for me to release this info so you could phone up and order, however they have selected a price that I do not feel is fair. Its a business, and they have to make their margins but the price they are asking is not what I want, and I am dissapointed that this has happened.

Don't worry though, there is nothing stopping me selling direct for the correct price, which I will do. You will get you HoFos for the right price, just not this week like I had hoped.

Please bear with me whilst I work this out. Disregard any rumours which put the HoFo at £2000, I will fix it.

Pete.

Thanks pete, or at least sell it at an "intro" price for people that put their names down on your reservation list. I am looking forward to own one of your product soon.

Pete, can you give us an idea of how quiet the unit is?

Glad to hear they'll be available direct. I'd much rather give the money to you : )

Hi Ted,

Whilst the motor unit is not totally silent, we usually find that it does not cause a problem. It whines a bit when it moves, but the faster you move it, the louder it is. Slower focus moves are near silent, and with a good soundman on board, this usually never causes a problem. In many situations where the HoFo would be used (a jib shot for example) audio is not even recorded live, as there is no real sound or dialogue to capture at the time.

Thanks,

Pete.

Yay, 1000th post.

Thank you to all the DVXusers that helped me develop this product. Lets hope all that want it can get their hands on it soon.

Pete.
