Remote Activation of Focus Assist

I attach a Foxi remote focus/iris control onto the handle of my shoulder mount so I don't have to reach up to the actual focus ring. It works well, but I really wish the Foxi had a button to activate the Focus Assist. I think having that cabability would really streamline the motions of focusing while handheld (without monitor). Does a remote focus, zoom or iris control exist that can activate the Focus Assist? Would this even be possible?

Unfortunaly this wouldn't be possible currently. The HVX control ports only have inputs for Record/Zoom/Focus/Iris

Is that function even available through the IR remote? I have often thought it might be nice to have a stick on IR emitter tied to a custom controller to control functions other than Record/Zoom/Focus/Iris.

I'd love it if it was possible to choose what the GPI input that is Record-Start/Stop would do from a list of functions. To make it an external "custom button" instead. - And FocusAssist would be on that list, along with many other features.
