Remember the original smaller battery that came with DVX in the old days?

If I remember correctly the DVX originally shipped with a smaller (dimension wise) battery and less mAh. Then came the HVX and the larger batteries like all of us use today on our HVX's and HPX's. I am trying to find somewhere that sells the original smaller size batteries. Anyone know of a source? Anyone know what the model number of this specific battery is or maybe what the mAh is?

The original DVX had that battery; at some point Panasonic started bundling the bigger battery. Maybe with the DVX100B, maybe before then. That other battery was, I think, 2600mah?

I still have the original small Panny battery (though I can't remember the last time I used the thing lol) that came with my DVX100a, it's a 1600mAh model number is CGR-D16

I'm wondering if there's any risk in using the less expensive batteries I've seen on ebay? Panasonic wants over $100 for the CGR-D16 and on ebay you can get knock-offs for around $10!

It's worth it to spend a little more to get the longer-life batteries. You don't need the panny batteries though. I use two Lenmar batteries.. paid $40 for them. I believe they are 2600 mAh. Seem to last as long as the stock panny battery for the HPX170...
