This is hopefully the first piece of a series of micro-shorts.

Panasonic Lumix GH1
Kit Lens 14-140
Canon FD 28/2.8 35/2.0
Fader ND

I really enjoy the 35mm f2.0 lens, you should look it up on ebay.
Any comments are very much appreciated.

I love this piece!! Very well done. Indeed the 35 f2 looks great.
Great concept, wonderfully executed....so much is being said in so little time. Bravo Sirk- that rocked

can you tell I liked it-

oh, what was the music??

I liked it very nice concept but only slight question/criticism: what is the point of the ND if the sky is still completely blown out/over exposed in just about every shot where the sky is prominently featured? Perhaps you should try graduated ND's? Or was that a deliberate effect?

Music is by "Rachel's"
Homunculus: I surely did some mistakes, but I did not use the ND to correctly expose the sky but the character or the foreground. I guess the contrast was too high, therefore the sky is somehow blown. Main reason, of course, why I used it was to use 1/50 exposure with wide open aperture.
But as you may have noticed, I punched the whites a bit in post. I think it results in a very nice "scandinavian" look/feeling, if you know what I mean.

Thanks for your kind words..

Sirk,

Just what a short should be. Beautifully done.

And I thought the visual esthetic perfectly compliment the subject.

Nice work. I look forward to more.

agreed- completely

it's just the right length- especially these days when rifling though test-video after test-video my attention span has grown short, This grabbed me and kept me all the way through, I could've watched more,

but I like the idea of the "Micro-short" Maybe the mods here will consider a fest with such parameters, i.e. under 60-90 seconds, subject, yadda, yadda, feature a red ball in at least one shot, etc, etc.

There could even be categories for factory-only "un-modded" gh-1's and/or "GH-13's only" I bet with this explosion of activity on the gh-1(3) front, there would be a lot of participation.... just a thought.

Anyhow, really nice job again Sirk! You've inspired me to kick out a few of these...

thanks guys, i'm honores.
Yes I also love the idea of micro shorts. I can imagine to produce on every weekend, if I had the time right now, but that was initially my idea. Work out a very short story, no beginning, no ending if you want, get a couple of friends and shoot.
That's what I'd love to do forever :)

edit: and yes, I cannot see those test videos anymore. after all I concluded: the GH1 is capable of filming gardens.

Great, great mood. Artsy in a very good way. Please continue!

That's my favorite too, in fact so much I got two of them. One with lens gears for the follow focus and one without for barebones rig street stuff.
