remakes.....arg!

I can understand them remaking The Crazies, thats a piece of crap film. It does have a good conecpt though.

I thought Limehouse was joking about BLACK CHRISTMAS but today on gorezone.net

BLACK CHRISTMAS remake: Dimension has acquired U.S. distribution rights to 2929 Productions remake of the horror thriller BLACK CHRISTMAS says The Hollywood Reporter. BLACK CHRISTMAS is about a killer who terrorizes a sorority house with phone calls before he begins to murder various sorority sisters during the holiday break. Writer-producer-director team of James Wong and Glen Morgan (FINAL DESTINATION) are behind the project which will start production in January for a Christmas 2006 release.

When will these F***ERS stop?

I'm not a "Hollywood Reader", but I've gone through a lot of spec scripts on the various screenwriting sites.

If they're any indication, not enough people are writing decent screenplays. I mean...they're ok, but...nothing I'd invest any big money in.

The Omen remade would be interesting..... Although as tech was well behind current times when the original was made... I wonder if scenes that were shot usining insuation, dialogue and symbols to get the message over will now be replaced with a lot of sfx nonsense.

FOOTLOOSE
YOu have to be kidding me. They has to be better original scripts than a remake of this crap. I am thining a modern audience is not really going to get the story anyway. Oh man the sky is falling.

I am not against remakes per se. Look at Heaven Can Wait, which was a remake of Goodbye Mr. Jordan, or even Always which was a remake of A Guy Named Joe. It just seems that today, they are remaking films that stand on their own and are not that old. They just do not get it. The audience is getting older, and many of them remember the original flicks. I do not think that the comparison of the movies will be in favor of the new versions, which will spoil the audiences tast for remakes.

Does that make sense?

I didn't say this! just realize that it is a remake after the film. and you will fell better.

predator? really? why'd they do that when they just did alien vs predator. Besides the movie is not old enough to warrant a remake. Still a fresh enough classic action survival thriller.

So now the new Bullitt will have some incredible Hummer speeding scene?

If they remake Animal House they gotta cast Artie Lange as you know who.

Why do they produce remakes of movies? I can understand doing a movie version of a TV show or Cartoon. I guess they want to keep the title of the movie alive with fresh talent or something.

well most of those films are like that but i was just saying it was remake and it was the best so why make a remake of it.

They are out of fresh ideas and in a big need of money.
