Reluctantly Selling HPX300

I had mine up there too but no luck first round. Might have to wait till you sell yours to get a better price. HPX300 , 2 batteries, Charger/AC (2) P2 16 cards, Portabrace Bag all for $7500.00 Buy Now starting bid $6800.00

First of all I don't feel real confident with either of my two latest Panasonic Camera's the HPX300 and the AF100. In the last week I just started to get better results from the AF100 but no luck with the 300. I think the 300 would make an okay B-roll camera, but that's not why I bought this camera.

Thought about renting it out, but would the average person be able to rent an learn how to use in a day? Or worse get mad and want there rental back.

I have never had an issue with previous camera's like my first Sony HI 8 801, Sony DVCAM VX1000, Sony DCX-D30 2/3 DVCAM (easy backfocus setup), HVX200, HPX300 and latest AF100.

I figure I take my loss now sell it for what I can and learn how to master the little AF100. I don't plan on doing anything long form only short under 5min projects (Fun Projects).

I already have a career as an interactive developer designing training content for a local Airline & Umbrella & Chair rental business in Galveston on R.A. Apffel Beach Park.

I thought I was going to be able to utilize the AVC-Intra 100 codec with green screen work to further my compositing & animation, but that didn't happen.

What I did do is waste $2000.00 in the process.

For me, soft footage and problems not assocated with the other cameras I have used. I want to film and edit, not constantly trying to find out why my footage is sub-par.

Thanks for the honest response. I am in the process of weighing the pros and cons of the HPX 300 and HPX 370 as of now I am also looking at other options. I must say however, I have had nothng but stellar performance from my HMC 150 and before it a DVX100b. I have had several full broadcast Betacams previously, Sony and Ikegami and welcomed the lightweight cameras which were perfect for the work I was doing. Now I need to go back towards an EFP/ENG type camera for my next couple of gigs. I will certainly be bringing the HMC150 with me along with my GH1 and GoPros but the main camera ???WHo knows . The HPX 500 or its next version ? Sony? Scarlet?
Again thanks for your response and all the best with your sale and future work.
Brian
