I just consolidated a project and all media files to a removable hardrive. Now when I open the project, it says "media offline" everything. I know everything is there so I tried he relink but it doesnt seem to work. Anyone have a method they can help with?

Thanks

What were your settings when you consolidated? Did you tell it to delete the original media? Did you create a new sequence?

no, i didnt have it delete the old media. i had it consolitate to the firewire drive with 90 sec handles on everything.

i dont get an error code...the preview screen says "media offline". but i know all of the omfi files are there, in the project folder.

odds are AVID is not recognizing your firewire drive as a media source. You can try a couple of things:

-manually copy your OMFI Media folder from the firewire drive to your old scratch drive, open avid, see if it finds your media there.

-try a batch import in AVID see if you can use that to reintroduce your media.

-go into settings/media creation, make sure that filter drives based on resolution is NOT checked, also make sure it recognizes your firewire drive in the drop down lists.

One thing to check is, in your bin with all or your media, go into the text view mode and scroll to the right to see the column with media drive info, see what drive your media clips THINK they are on.

I'm not at a machine right now, so its tougher for me to troubleshoot, but I hope this helps!

You didn't mention if you told Avid to make a copy of your sequence or not. Make sure you're not trying to open the original sequence you used to consolidate. Also, make sure Avid has mounted the drive. You should be able to access what drives are mounted under the 'File' Menu.. I think.
