Reliable In-Camera Playback Patch - downloadable settings file

I've posted a downloadable PTool Settings File containing the patches I've developed for use on Class 6 SD cards and higher for both NTSC and PAL GH1 and GF1 cameras. It can be found in the PTool Settings Sharing Thread:
http://dvxuser.com/V6/showpost.php?p=2039780&postcount=5

Here's what it contains:

35Mbps MJPEG In-Camera Playback Patch
720p @ 30fps in 4:2:2 color

These settings produce HD movies with average bitrates of up to 35Mbps across a broad range of illumination, from dim incandescence to shaded daylight. I've found this to be close to the highest MJPEG bitrate that can be reliably played back in-camera.

40Mbps AVCHD High Reliability Patch
720p @ 59.94fps & 1080i @ 23.976fps

These settings produce reliable SH and FHD movies with average bitrates of up to 40Mbps. For extended recording duration, H mode will record 720p movies at about 24Mbps, and L mode will record 720p movies at about 16Mbps.

Utility Patches Included:
Version update compatibility
Version number incremented by one
Third-part battery support
All interface languages
30min time limit removal
PAL/NTSC selection menu
GF1 Manual movie modes

avc not working for me

avc not working for me

I loaded your new settings. I've been using your previous settings 35mbps patch. Thank you very much by the way.

AVC would not record and I had to pull the battery. I realized I did not have the kit lens attached (oops) and tried again. same thing happened. MJpeg worked fine, but when I switch to avc it froze and I had to pull the battery. I reloaded 35mbps stable settings and everything seems normal. avc works, etc.

Be certain you are using the latest version of PTool 3.40d. Unfortunately, the last half-dozen versions of PTool have all been labeled with the same version number. If you haven't downloaded PTool since before the date on this post, then you have an obsolete version of PTool 3.40d that will not work with this patch.

You can download the latest version here: http://www.gh1-hack.info/ptool3d.zip

I downloaded the version from the link and loaded the settings. Everything appears to be working fine. Thank you much.

Not sure what happened. I think I had the latest version 3.40d. It's the same size. not sure. pilot error somewhere probably. How do I tell which 3.40d is the latest?

I followed all the steps.
I holding down the Play button on my camera the only know way of loading the firmware? Cause it always jumps right into "there are no pictures to be viewed" mode.

Do you realize this thread is from 2010 when the GH1 was first hacked? Search for the latest 2012 posts on this so you don't get in trouble. Also read Beginners Guides to hacking your camera; there are sticky posts on this.
