I happened to have recently seen a 2nd hand HVX for sale at a price that fits my budget and the seller and I have agreed a price. However his stated location is at a place that isn't convenient for me to get to, which I would like to do to check out the camera face to face. That leaves the only other option of him couriering the camera to me when funds are received.
Naturally, although we all like to believe the best in people, I am keen to ensure that, if he did turn out to be a scammer, my funds are safe and secure.
Can anyone in the UK please recommend the best method for us lot to transfer funds online? I don't like the idea of Paypal's lack of buyer protection for private deals, and all this talk of escrow and fraud makes me run away scared like a little child!
To reiterate, I am buying the camera and want to make sure that my funds aren't taken and lost in the case of fraud, and am looking for a reliable place online to manage the transaction.
