hi all,

just want to share comment on reliability of SDHC card for HMC.
So far, i tried all these card and they proved that it work well.
1) Panasonic SDHC ( 20mb/s )
2) Scandisk extreme 3 ( 30mb/s)

any other class 6 sdhc card recommendations?

You might want to do a search, this has been talked about a lot. Transcend is pretty cheap and gets great reviews from people here.

I just shot a feature over 2 weeks with Transcends I averaged 3 8GB cards a day and had no issues with repeated use of the same cards. I have yet to have any issues with Transcend cards.

The free 8GB Panasonic card I got from the HMC offer has given me nothing but problems. I have lost my footage twice on the Panasonic card. I have 3 16gb Transcend cards and have never had a problem with them, unfortunately the price on them just went up $10 per card on Amazon.

I've been rather happy with the Transcend 16gb Class 6's I picked up.

On another note, wouldn't the Scandisk Extreme be somewhat overkill, since the AVCHD only records a max of 21 mb/s?

Transcend deals can be found on eBay and I don't think the same fear a la counterfeit Scandisk cards is an issue. Often, folks buy a 16 GB card only to discover that their point-and-shoot only takes up to 8.

Do you guys usually go with Class 6 cards or does anyone use any Class 4 cards? The HMC150 documentation says they require a Class 4 (minimum) card.

The only total data failure I have personally seen was on a Panasonic SDHC card.

I agree the Trancends work great and only need the occasional clip repair.

I have all transcend 16 GB cards and they have worked flawlessly for over 7 months now with lots of overwrites (well rather a format then write). The real bummer is that the cards went up from $20 each to over $40 now...
