Reformatting My 5D Footage

Hey there,

So I have finished editing a short film and realized that I edited it with the wrong sequence settings. I've tried making a new sequence with the proper setting, but it does not remove the letter box bars from the canvas. The footage is 1920x1080p, I think I've tried everything, but if someone has an answer for me, I would be eternally grateful!
Thanks for your guys time.

It would assist if you indicate what were your old sequence settings, and what you wish to have as your new sequence settings.

Also, what version of FCP on what Macintosh?

Finally, if this is 5D footage, I assume you transcoded to pro res. If so, did you use the Canon EOS plug in, and what version of pro res did you transcode to?

So the current sequence settings are:

720x480 NTSC DV (3:2)
I would like them to be 1920x1080 HD

I transcoded it to Apple Pro Res 422 HQ

I'm running a MacBook Pro on FCP 6.0.5

Hey again,

So I have tried a few more different things, like get the proper sequence settings. Now I am taking the edited footage from the old sequence and trying to put it into the new sequence. I've taken the sequence it self and put into the new one and still isn't working. Is there a way that I can get the old edited footage into a the new sequence with all the proper settings without having to re-edit the whole thing??? ANY HELP AT ALL IS SERIOUSLY APPRECIATED.

Thanks.

Make the sequence with the settings you want. Go to the old sequence. SELECT ALL...COPY. Then go to the new sequence...PASTE. Now with all the footage highlighted, go EDIT>REMOVE ATTRIBUTES. Choose BASIC MOTION and DISTORT. If you happen to have done moves on items, or scaled them up...those will be lost and need to be redone. BUT, better than having to undo this clip by clip...

So that did help...for the clips that I had formatted properly. Now what I had forgot, was that when I was syncing the audio with Pluraleyes, instead of making them independent clips, I made them sequences. Genius right. So I've edited only with sequences. So now, somehow I've ended up with some sequences with the right sequence settings and some the wrong settings (720x480 NTSC DV [3:2]). So now that I've realized that all these sequences have the wrong settings, I've tried changing the sequence settings, and then put them into the properly formatted timeline, but it still doesn't work. What the heck do I do. This is driving me crazy, does anyone no how to solve my dumb ass induced problem???
