There is a rumor that ReflectMedia has a light ring that goes around the teleprompter itself. Does anyone know this to be true? :huh:

I'm not exactly sure how it works, but the product name is "Reflecmedia". I think the light ring goes on the camera.

The Reflecmedia system works with the light source as close to the lens as possible .. I think around the promper may be to far off-axis to work properly.

You can't use it thorugh a teleprompter becuse you can't see the text to read it (it keys just fine though).

Normally you use it with an "above the lens" prompter though.

Yeah, I know it goes around the camera lense. I have one.
We use a prompter, obviously without the light ring. I was in a conversation with a vendor for lighting and he said that there is a new chroma light that goes around the prompter. I never heard or seen this and was doubtful. I asked him to send me more info on it. I haven't heard back from him. According to your responses, I guess it's not true.
