Reflections

OMG, that was great, and totally nostalgic for me. Back in the early '80s, I pretty much made my reputation (such as it was) shooting dance -- won a couple of major awards for my work back in the day. Much more primitive equipment, but your pacing, editing and shot selection could have been lifted directly out of my work back then. I am very impressed.

(In my other documentary work, I'm known as a tight close-up shooter for the most part. I have to suppress my impulse to go in too tight when shooting dance, because they always prefer the full-length shots from the toes to the top of the head or hands ... it takes a lot of discipline to keep your fingers off the zoom ring!)

And admit it, now, you keep those birds in a cage just off set and have a PA release them at the right moments to fly through your shots, right? I pretty much believed it might have been a lucky shot in the Pacifica video, but twice is just too much. :-)

Did you do the B&W in the camera, or in post?

I agree when shooting dancer/s the audience wants to see the whole body so it takes a bit of creativity to get interesting angles. But it looks good!

Birds love me. B&W was done in post. The tighter shots were a ***** to pull focus on especially when I didn't bother to bring my follow focus.

Looks good. Just fyi (and it might be my computer) but when I turn on the HD function, there's some weird a#% pixelation going on.

nice job. you have a lot of cool locations in your area.

word on the street is that angry bird from your last video who was upset about how he was treated notified Harry Potter about the music in this video ;)

Nice work...
How many takes did you do and specifically how did you sync them? Slate? Time code from audio source?

Simple.... sometimes we just "gut it out" and endure the tedium of matching audio manually... I think Premier has a funciton that looks at the waveform for you and matches them more or less in sync with each other...
Nice work...
