OK.

Kill me guys.

Put together some footy from some of the gigs I did this fall. But it is so much harder to kill oneself than others.

Yep. I know... There are images that have to go, and I do have others to put in, but this is where I landed for today.

As this is a preview for comments, I'ts kinda hard compressed.

When I'm done I'll release it in 720 as well as SD

Please rightklick on the link and download.

And KILL me!

Looks great. Lots of beautiful shots. My only gripe is the weird camera shots with text at the end. Looks like a cool camera, but completely out of pace and place. Overall, hot stuff! I think the music works well, that Igepa Group shot is pretty funny though.

Thanks all!

Shot mostly 1080p 25 on HVX, but I think a 1080 webreel might be a bit overkill. Maybe not?

As for the audio: Quick and dirty Soundtrack'ing. I need to get the thing out, but I'll look some moore into it.

As for the Red images:
Basically information to clients & prospects that we're building a full workflow around Red for this autumn.

Really appreciate the feedback (also from those who don't like it!)

I like it. What kind of reel is it? I mean whats the service you are aiming at? Some shots, although none are bad, could change as you say to keep the pace more even, maybe its the cuts. Anyway looks pretty nice.

Good question -;)

We are doing pre, shooting, post, planning. Currently working for several ad-agencies doing commersials and information stuff, have also had photo/edit of some theatre (as you may see).

But we also rent equipment...

In addition we do our own productions and deliver stock.
(Currently one stop-motion animation and a short financed and under production)

And hope to expand.

It has been too busy to get any reel material out or a website up, so this is kind of a way to try to close that gap. This autumn it has been lots of "things" in the finished shots, and I cannot release unpublished material from campaigns that come later. Thus: Not to many people shots to choose from.

I'm very open to suggestions on which images to edit out or change.
That's sorta the purpose of posting it here first. -;)

yes i am ignorant, an did not realise that was the Red camera. (lovely little specimen) I guess the hvx is as much aquisition as i need for now..

I like the photography VERY much - but I agree, the camera ad (or whatever) is way out of place.

And too much of the guys in uniform - what was all that about?

But quality photography and editing - it's full of that!
We don't see enough quality photography these days.

cool. the red pics are better out, yes. nice everything. some shots are a little bit too much video, you should try a 35 adapter, why wait for red to go crazy with dof?

Thanks again.

I'm not too mad about making all video look like film myself -;) It is video after all, and sometimes that is as well.
Shallow DOF is actually quite easy to aquire with the stock HVX lens, when I want it , and something I don't always die for - but that's just me. -;)

The Red pics are out. One of the dancer shots is swapped with another with a different girl.

Some new desert pics added.

Thanks again!

don't like the music (kinda cheesy)

+1

track drives forward but is annoying & cheese factor takes away from your footage.

you asked: "kill me." .

fwiw: like a script, if after page 3 nothing happens it gets tossed... same goes for a reel... but maybe 3-5 seconds.

some of your shots look like "stock house" stuff too... curious what shots you did not like?

i liked the scout/theatrical footage b/c it's unexpected & different... the c.u. industrial machine stuff was cool too (press running?).

who is your target market? who will be screening? i ask b/c i was an ad agency creative director & it would not screen well @ a good agency or commercial prod. house in nyc or la.

is your market more for industrials & client direct stuff?

Thanks - and I actually meant it!

I deliver stock, do theatre and dance shows (theatres are part of my clientelle) and ad-agencies. So you sorta pinned down my three client groups -;)

The music is a bit of a headake, but I'd like to change it, too busy right now.

I basically needed a reel, but had limited time..
But Your input is VERY good!

It has (so far) worked pretty well on both ad agencies and theatres, though - got 2 months work out of it within 24 hours of release (agencies and theatre scenography)

But I plan to put out a new arround easter/early spring. I'm not at all happy with the reel as a whole.

It would be nice to have a suggestion about what to toss. (That's rather easy for me to do-;)
If you would not mind.

Thanks a lot!

This is excellent feedback!
