FS7: Reel - fs7 + s16

I really liked your reel! Great work! I liked that you didn't just throw a song on there, like a wet blanket over the footage. I do that in my reel, and while I try to be purposeful about it, you have inspired me to try to be more mindful of sound.

If you're at all interested in feedback, the only thing I'd change is I'd take out the two shots back-to-back of the older folks at what looks like and outdoor produce market or something. But it's really not a make-or-break type of thing.

Either way, thanks for sharing!

I like the sound a lot too...and if there was one thing I would consider changing (I know you didn't really ask), I would go straight from 1:07 walking to the ending ocean sequence. (It already even sounds a little like the ocean during the walking.)

IMO, the ruler/"drill" sound is out-of-place and a bit jarring as well. (But maybe that's the point.)

I liked the use of sound but I'm not sure if the use of "incorrect" sound-proximity comes across as an intentional artistic statement or just comes across as error. For instance, the opening shot where the water is far away but sounds as if it is only a few feet away. Was it intentionally incorrect?

Thanks, the idea was to make the water feel closer and to emphasise it straight away, since water is kind of the theme for the soundscape. Good point that it might be unclear and thus take you out of it.

To me its more of a way of forcing you to take a different approach to shooting.
Both in terms of how much you can roll, but also the way you need to understand what you will get when you have no monitor to visualize it for you.
It makes me much more careful and deliberate, and in the end it makes me like the images more.
