Reduction in Post

Yes,
I didn't want to mention the "N" word,
But, as I recently tried out an HVX at a dealership
(recorded it to my laptop, in a variety of settings - though I will do more tests...)
I was a little stunned with the noise...Esp. the blocks
Esp. in dark Blues and Blacks -
I hear this is a Vericam issue too

I don't really want to deal with this in Post...but there may be times when I must.
What do you use without sacrificing too much res?
Crunch blacks in FCP?
Are there plugins?

Can we make this a Non- Issue (partially in How you shoot, partially in post)

thanks,
J

Thanks Emmanuel,
it was your Plug-in post that made me think of this...
but it looks more like a de interlacer and it is PC only

cheers,
J

You're welcome John!

No, there is for both platforms, also Mac. And if you're looking for, there you find the noiseless/grainless tool, too.

Only to Mac, for example, you have the Graeme's (Nattress):

...or the list that I linked to Gary/Sproketz's post.

Doesn't Magic Bullet Suite also have a de-artifacter?

Version 2 for editors has a deartifacter right in the NLE.

ahh,
good news.
How much quality will be lost with these - ?
That is a question for people who have the HVX ...

I use the Nattress set of filters all the time and can highly recommend them. If anything, they are slightly underpriced.
