Redrockmicro shoulder mount

I placed an order for the Redrockmicro shoulder mount on Sunday (11/22/09) with FedEX 2 Day shippping. I need this shoulder mount before this Thanksgiving (11/26/09). Anyway, I just got an email from Redrockmicro and it said this:

We received your payment for your order. Your order has now moved into production. When it is finished it will be shipped to you and you will receive an email notification and tracking number.

Is Redrockmirco saying they do not have this product in stock ready to be shipped as soon as a customer orders the product? Or, am I reading this wrong?

my understanding after speaking to them and from what i have read from other people who have ordered is...6-8 weeks to receive your order once placed.

this was about 4 months ago when i had this conversation with them. i gathered that they build the product after they know that they have the money in hand.

i think you will be waiting for quite awhile.

Wow, that really sucks! I was hoping I can use it this Thanksgiving weekend. I'm very disappointed that they did not mentioned this on the purchase page. I already emailed them to cancel the order if they do not have it ready for shipping. I hope they answer my first email which I sent on Sunday night (11/22/09). According to the automated email I got, they're suppose to answer me within 48 hours. I guess the 48 hours isn't up yet until tonight midnight.

On another product, the Swit battery for my EX1 camera. It took them about 6 minutes to give me a tracking number to my order. B&H is one other place that is efficient.

I still think that there should be an asterisk or footer note in the purchasing page or a pop up during check out. I can't believed they charge my credit card and not delivering the good. To me, that just bad business.

We ordered a SSD from a well know vendor who advertised it as "in stock." Pay via PayPal.

Everything was fine until two days later when I received an emal that it was processing. Checked the web site again, and of course it was in stock.

Then I got a shipment delayed message saying shipment in 1-2 days. Web page said, "in stock."

Then I got an indefinite wait e mail message.

Took five phone calls and three days to get a refund issued via PayPal.

The PayPal took a week to credit the refund.

Alot of fun.

I just wish vendors would put the information right on the purchasing or when checking out in bold red or something if the product is going to be delay in any shape or form. When I am purchasing, I'm not just looking to buy a product but also the vendor's customer service, support, and communication. I feel that RedRock Micro has failed in all those three categories.

Okay, this is Wednesday morning. I first email RedRock Micro on Sunday night about 7PM. I still have not received any response from them besides the auto response that they will respond within 48 hours. I still think 48 hours are too long of a wait; however, I have waited more than 48 hours now.

I will never buy anything from RedRock Micro again for this sort of customer service. One of the reasons I decided to purchase from Redrock Micro is because it is a sponsor of this site and I'm very grateful for this site. It is one of the places I visited for information. I even put in dvxuser.com in the text box asking who tell me about Redrock Micro.

Well, I just got an email saying my order has been canceled and refunded, although they never did answer my first email. I'm still glad I didn't have to call them.

Sorry to hear that Lor... I have had nothing but good experiences with redrock and their equipment.

In the auto-response email, did it say they check emails during business hours like Monday-Friday? If so, that means they would be playing catch up on Monday morning to get to all the emails sent that weekend and it could take 48 hours from Monday morning to get to yours.

I work in an office and I deal with emails heavily and I can tell you first hand that sometimes it takes 3 days to get to all the emails that jam up my inbox from the weekend and that means all the new ones that come in during the week are backed up as well!!! I guess it would be different if they would hire someone else, except our economy has turned to crap!!

Did you ever try calling customer support? I usually first send an email to a company and if they don't respond by the next day, I call them. If I need service even quicker, I will call them as soon as they are open.

(FYI, I do not work for redrock, I have just had really good experiences with their products and support).

Thanks for the input. I will admit that it was my fault to not look at everything on their site. I would have seen the Lead Time page. I was so hoping to use the product on this Thanksgiving weekend. And yes, I can understand the delay especially during holiday season, it gets busy.

I really like some of Redrock Micro's products but until they have the product ready to be shipped, putting some kind of footer note or pop up during the check out page about the lead time, I will not purchase from Redrock Micro.

I look at B&H site most of time for new product and prices and I do not see Redrock Micro's product in there. I would prefer to purchase it from there since it is reliable and it tells me if the item is in stock or not.
