I just picked up this nikon 105mm f2.5 from my friend today and I've been working on getting a sharp image forever. I feel like I'm closer, but for some reason it's like I'm just not quite there yet.

Anyways, here are three shots. I obviously don't have very much to film around me.

Right Click-Save As
 
The images are a little soft, but its not terribly bad. The thing that really sticks out to me though is the large amount of noise in all three shots.

join the club. I live in a freaking desert.
Anyway, I liked what you shot though. I sort of liked it soft. Maybe, I'm the only one?
 
I thought the softness gave it a certain feel, but I can't have that for everything you know?

Anyways, the grain! I think that may be because I was bumping up the sharpness so much and not actually fixing the softness problem. I'm going to try pushing the ground glass all the way back and getting the infinite focus better, starting from scratch.

What's ghosting though? I thought there was something weird going on with the left side, but I couldn't put my finger on exactly what.
