Redrock M2 short..

Hello people,

Here's a cheesy little short we shot last weekend with the M2 adapter.
Check it out if you like. Yes, there's some hardcore hot-spotting going on... We used the ground-glass with the lower light-loss and no external ND's. So that's probably why..

This has to be the cheesiest thing I have ever seen in my life. On a scale of 1-10 for cringe factor, this gets a 13.

Sorry to be so harsh but the song is terrible, as is the voice and you have gone out on a limb with the sugar-coating.

Not sure why you bothered to use the adapter, it didn't add anything at all to this video, in my opinion.

As the two gay guys on "In Living Color" would say...HATE IT!!

Disjecta and LLoydC, thanks :D That's exactly where we were going with this. Now, is there anything cheesier than superimposing two faces over each other? Or shooting into the sun and then burning to white? I think not! Your point regarding adapter use is valid. Some of the stuff in this video could have been done using the DVX lens only.

Cheers,

Klosse

What was your point in shooting this? I think you could have achieved all of your shots sans adapter, btw, and gotten a sharper picture in the process.

The point was to try to make images that corresponded to the music in cheesyness. The point was also to test out the M2 and see how it performed / handled on location without any special ways of controlling the light. I totally agree with you that this isn't a shallow-depth-of-field showcase extravaganza. But atleast it's cheesy. :)

Cheers,

loved it, cut well to the music, lit beautifully.. i think that even though you could've shot much of it without M2, it will look better with. unfortunately i couldnt bare to watch more then the first 45 sec

I'm currently eating a gingerbread with some fine cheddar on top, but I'll take your advice into consideratio. Too much cheese is never too good, but there's nothing like a real cheese binge now and then :)

thanks troypod and zach_lien. It's quite interesting what one can accomplish with a whiteboard reflector and doing the "waiting for the light to be right" thing :)

Btw, Disjecta... May I quote you on that "this is the cheesiest thing I've ever seen, cringefactor 13" thing? :)

I am lactoste intolerant.

That movie gave me major gas...and bloating. And whatever else the side effects of lactose intolerance are.

It's cheesy, is what I'm getting at.

We've established that.

Otherwise it's... okay.

And I have to say I love that song. I laughed the whole way through.

I laughed too, although I have to say it was the girl in the video that held my attention and made me sit through this. There were some shots that looked fake to me, maybe that was the effect of the adapter, not sure. One in particular was when we see him singing to her over her shoulder. didn't look right to me. Maybe too much reflector board on him or something.

WTF?! I don't know what I just watched! I don't think chessy is the word. The word I'm thinking about is not even in the dictionary. But what I can say is that I watched it entirely and I did liked the music( the piano only). I'm still think this M2 adapter is way too soft for me.

The dude singing should try out for American Idol!
