Hey Spidey and Matthew, I did this just for fun and for you guys:

I just reworked your trailer a little because I like the footage so much. Think of it as an homage to your awesome looking film. If it bothers you that I did this, let me know and I will bring it down.

To all that view the clip, please note:

All rights of this trailer belong to the original respective copyright holder(s). It is not meant to be used for any official promotional purposes of any kind and is absolutely not to be redistributed. :lipsrseal

Wow! That was cool. I watched it several times. It opens an interesting can of worms. I want the film to have a HEAVY METAL feel, but damned if I'm not swayed by what you've done.
Maybe a combination of the 2. The opener was written to Thirty-Three by Karma to Burn. I'm working on getting rights to it. I'm doing an edit with that song. Maybe, if Spidey and I get enough time on the 5th, we'll post a bit more.

nice work ProjX v2.0

nice work ProjX v2.0

to be quite honest the "fan" trailer is a lot better than the original...

you guys may want to think about bringing ProjX v2.0 onto your project, it's not often somebody reworks your trailer for you just for fun!

why is it better? is it the music you dont care for because its less cinematic? the film is more like a ryuhei kitmura film which realizes on metal than cinematics.

It is nice. Hold out for the Metal. I think you'll be surprised. The footage lends itself to it.
To match the scale of ProjX v2.0's version, we'd need a lot more cash and some giant beasts to ride on. That is a compliment to ProjX v2.0, by the way.

the other trailer is way better in my opinion... It's most likely just the music change, but it has a lot more pop to it

I read John's sticky about the importance of sound right before I happened across this thread...and P V2's work does a fine job highlighting this. Great footage, and combined with the 2nd track I had shivers running down my spine.

Just watched the two trailers. Love the footage...

I think the editing in the second video is better - but I do disagree with the music. I like the metal better - maybe not the particular track used in the first trailer. The "epic" music seems way too cliche - like every other "epic" sword fighting movie out there. The metal makes it seem a little more unique.

I can't watch the first trailer because of the whole quicktime deal. But the second trailer looked pretty good. Like the last shot with the black guy (he's got a great look) in a close up. One thing I can't stand, however, is in a cheap fight production when someone pulls a punch, or pulls a sword swing, which you can see in one of the first sword swings in the trailer (or I should say, the 2nd trailer). It takes you right out of the moment because you instantly know it's fake. So maybe you can fix that in editing (cutting to another angle during the swing).

no specific identifed so oh well. cant help you. plus do you know the story? i mean the title redneck samurai can hint a few things.

What i've noticed and has impressed, well at least of the small bit i've seen, is the color. Much like the coen's o' brother. it has that dry and dusty feel to it with the grit. It also captures that southern feel with the golden tones that accompany the grittiness- perfect combination that obviously worked in the coen's film. Well done, can't wait to see the final.

I can't spot the moment you are talking about with the "sword/punch" moment. Are you talking about when he first draws his sword? That, and not to call it out, is right out of "Lone Wolf and Cub". I can't stand when stuff looks fake, either. Be more specific. I want to know. Is it when the redheaded guy gets cut? More info, please.
