I took my camera to get professionally cleaned after seeing the red X and the next time i shot the red x came back AGAIN?!?!?!

.....the world is against me.

Sounds like they owe you some money and/or an explanation (assuming you didn't grab that old tape your mom has been using over and over for the last three years and drop it in the camera! Just kidding, bummer about the red X, I had that appear on a shoot, fortunately it was only affecting playback and not record, a cleaning tape resolved the issue).

I just came back from a shoot tonight, and yes, the same exact thing happened to me. I got a red X, and I thought my recording heads were clogged (got venetian blinds on playback of tape). Checked it on another camcorder, video was fine. Cleaned the heads, and it was gone.

Though I think the weirdest thing about it is that I only had 7 hours on my DVX.

Yeah, I got the same thing. But it went away on set after turning the camera off and on again. Taking it back to the place that did the cleaning.

I got the same thing and I have only 13 hours of use, it went away though. Still why is it doing this?

I had the same problem, but that was when I used old used tapes, after that i almost onlyshoot with the same type and new and the red X didnt comeback.
