Red vs Sigma 17-50mm on AF100

This is a comparison between
Red 17-50 T2,9 & Sigma 17-50 f2,8


It will test:
-Fixed aperture continuity
-How parfocal they are
-Breathing and throw




My personal opinion is that the build quality of the Sigma is s**t and the Red is awsome.
But if you can work with well perfoming s**t you can do it all

The thing that struck me most is how bad the parfocal performens the Red had, I had a Nikon 18-70 that performed the same and I returned it for the Sigma.
Follow focus is not an option if you chose Sigma, you need it.

Interesting comparison. I thought the breathing on the Sigma looked really strong. I've read ( which might be complete BS ) that the Red is a rebranded Sigma anyway, just in a different housing.

Its a rebranded Tamron

Yeah the breathing is stronger then the Red by 40% i think
