RED MOON RISING - by the Brothers Tuttle

Ok, so we're back!

Where were we?... well I won't bore you with the details (mostly it has to do with our mind numbing day jobs keeping us from here and our hobby, but this could just be a lame excuse, a cop-out, I suppose... Damn! I said I wasn't going to bore you and went ahead and did it).

So anyway, it's been almost a year since we started this project and thought it was about time to kick our arses into gear, hunker down, and finish this beast. Not say we haven't been sllllooooowwwwwwllllyyy working on in it but it's time to stop working on this thing in 120 fps and start working at 16 fps.

Ok so without further ado, we thought it's time to show off some grabs of Red Moon Rising, if anything to just show that this movie is indeed real and not just vapor-film...

TRAILER - TEASER TRAILER:

Ok here is a teaser trailer for Red Moon Rising. It is just a teaser, and doesn't really tell too much of the story. Its more like a montage really but it will give you guys a peek. [Disclaimer/Excuses] It's kinda rough, I'm not extremely happy about the opening shot and some of the shots need some NeatVideo applied (as soon as I buy it that is) and a little more color grading [/Excuses] Annnnyyyyway, here you go:

Any thoughts on the teaser^ Is it just to teasery to have much to say? too long? just plain terrible?

What do you guys think about the color grading? I've been debating about going more desaturated.

Looks great! I would tone down the colour a little more but I always sway that way. :)

The only thing I didn't like was the music, it didn't seem to fit. Apart from that spot near the end of course. Works great there!

Very nice framing and camera movement throughout. Looking really good.

Cheers,

MAH

Thanks for the comments. Yeah, I think Im gonna tone it down a hair.

When you say the music didn't fit, you mean tone wise or, shots editted to the beats-wise (if that makes any sense)? We are hoping to do original, orchestral, music for our next trailer (and film), but me and my bro are rock/metal heads so we just threw in a song for the teaser that we liked.

I meant that the music just didn't seem to fit, it was like you just slapped on a rock song. Beat-wise as well. Except for that latter part that you timed perfectly. That worked nicely.

Just my 2 cents.

Looks really good though and I want to see more. :)

This just looks like a director's/DP's/ reel...

Get rid of the music, and get a score or something...This would look a lot more better in my opinion.

Great shots, I just wanna hear some of the audio!

Looks cool, but I'm with Anthony, the music really doesn't fit. The music sounds a bit like 80's rock/metal music also (which may work better for a period piece), which really doesn't fit. The ending works well though.

Also, the teaser trailer really didn't tell me anything about the film. A teaser trailer, while it's not supposed to reveal much, is supposed to tease people with a bit of information and get them interested. Right now all I know is some guys fight, some guys torture, and the main guy lights something on fire in the kitchen.

Looks cool though.

All right, great feedback guys! Our next trailer will have composed music for sure and have more dialogue, maybe some titles.

It's good to hear you guys like the look of the footage though:beer:

It's really a minor thing since it's not like that track will be used as your score anyway. It does look really good. I would also like to hear more as well in order to get a vibe for the acting.

Good luck with the edit.

You have come a long way since "Astatic". I think I need to screen this film soon.

Thanks for the good luck, we are close to a really really rough edit but far from done.

Seth! Good to see you on the boards. What do you mean "Astatic" was a master piece, it was my "Godfather"... ok I'm kidding. I'll give you a call when we have our rough edit done so you can come over and check it out (we have our worries and need input for sure).

Hey Jeremy, I really love the trailer. Great job. Cant wait to see the film! Good luck with it. :-) Btw, I'd love to work with you sometime. Let me know if you need any original music scoring.
