Out of the box I find that the DVX100a looks a little red overall in the flesh tones...anyone else notice this? Any tips?

Re: red flesh tones

white balance
color temp
chroma level
chroma phase
experiment with these until you find appropriate looking skin tones.  make sure that you are using a calibrated monitor to be sure, as the LCD screen cannot be trusted for 100% accurate color.

Check out this site under articles Painting Im ages with DVX for a good understanding of settings.
I have found the flip out monitor is too magenta but the factory setting is a bit magenta as well. Try setting your Chroma Phase to a -3.
