Red Faces

Shot interview in large building with several skylights.
Using mini-frezzi as fill.
White balanced with DSC CamWarm 1 card.
Using Barry Green's "film look" magic projectile setting.
MCU for the most part.
Be damed if I could get rid of that red.
Played with the iris, dimmed the frezzi, changed the shutter speed.
Now just by asking this I'm exposing myself as a novice shooter.
But one willing to learn.
Any thoughts?
Colour correcting this is a pain!

Are you using Vegas by anychance? There is a really good 6way color corrector plug in available.

Why a warm card? White balance normally and warm it up in Post.

I prefer no incamera tweaks. I want the purest image possible incamera. Use default settings (minor tweaks on the fly are always acceptable)

If you white balanced with a warmcard, then you should expect a red shift to everything, including faces. The idea behind using any non white reference is to perserve as much dynamic range as possible when you want your final output to have a shifted color balance. If you wanted a more neutral balance, then use a spectrally neutral reference (white or gray) to balance the camera.

Yes I use Vegas 6.0c
Are you referring to the colour corrector that comes with the NLE?
Have fiddled with that and Vegas colour curves function,----but not to my satisfaction.
Maybe I need a tutorial? Could be going about it the wrong way.
Maybe should watch scopes 'stead of NTSC screen?
Any easily applied tips on cc would be appreciated if that's the plug in you refer to.
Love this film-like setting on exteriors for this project,---warm and rich, vibrant.
But for the face not so.
More like terminal embarrassment flush!
Still was reluctant to use camera default for interview as that might affect uniformity, or consistency of colour in project overall.
Maybe I shouldn't get too hung up on that though.

The plug in for Vegas is Aavs6cc. It has 6 vector control which makes it easy to dump just the amount of red that you wish. Using it in conjunction with Vegas' built in vectorscope tool, lets you see how much of a color is being removed.
It's a free download and one of my "indespensible" tools for post.
Hope this helps.

Mind. Mind.
Dowloaded it,---played with it.
Does nothing that I can see.
And seems a lot like something alien.
Where to got to find out the language and workings?

Played some more.
Figuring it out.
Pretty simple.
Like me!
Very kool indeed.
Thanks Ken,---Thanks John.
