NB: There is also an Alex Brown on DVXuser - but there is NO indication he is in any way related to the Reduser scammer of the same name.

Paul Tran above PM'ed me yesterday about buying a 256GB 1.8" Redmag and Reader off me on Reduser, but he's selling those exact items in his package here today?

Actually noticed Paul Tran has just been Banned on Reduser!

It's very easy to give evidence you are legitimate - post a photo with your name handwritten on a bit of tape attached to the above camera for sale with today's date.

I will of course apologise profusely and delete the possible scam alert when you do.

This Epic we are selling is not the only one we own. We decided to sale the one with the lowest hours. I asked you and a few other members about there 256GB to complete another set. But thanks for alerting others Eric. I never spoken to Alex Brown but see that he is not banned on RU. I do not know why I am banned but he is not. Did he advertise my Epic on RU?


I am not home but can send you that around 10. I really do not have to prove myself but I will.

Interesting answer Paul. Still seems strange to sell something you want to buy at the same time though - please post that additional photo, and I will be more than happy to remove my posts!

Alex Brown posted the exact same photos and package items as you have above (since deleted), and he also enquired about my Redmag as you did, and gave someone else's unrelated eBay account as his good buyer reference. That rings a lot of alarm bells!

Alex Brown is not connected to me whatsoever. I have not seen what he was selling. He most likely stole my photos but its weird how he is wanting a redmag. I dont know if he tried messaging me before. But will do!

The only reason to buy something you currently have ready to sell would be to complete a package as indicated. If this person has multiple Red's and they feel they can't sell them without having at least one 256gb drive in each set, then that might be enough reason. Doesn't the same owner run DVX, BMC, and Reduser? Could they just check the access logs and find out if these user accounts are all sharing the same IP address (and MAC address)? Sometimes the witch hunt pays off and we get rid of a thief, sometimes we just piss off a real user that was in good standing.

I'm reporting my response to the mods/admins and asking that they give this all a look. If the original poster be thief, please go away. If you be real user, please forgive this transgression.

I sent this user a PM offering to buy the camera. After receiving an answer, I asked for more pictures proving it was real. Did not receive the pictures or any further response. This was enough to scare me away.

The disconnect in username and real name is also a bit curious... why is Paul Tran going by "Boldyreva Maria" as his username?
