red color correction help!

Hey guys
Shot a music video on 16. Problem is we want to darken the whites but when using FCP when lowering the brightness, it blows out the reds (too vibrant)

What is a good setting where I can just darken the whites (background)? I dont want to desaturate and I also have MB.

Also, when I export, should I export as a DV progressive or interlaced?

try using the color correction in FCP and limit it just to the reds and desaturate it slightly. Also feather edges a little.
