Hi Guys,
I was filming yesterday and after a few minutes I get this red circle with the X inside. Well, needless to say, I freaked!
After determining what it was, I used a tape head cleaner. Then, I tried recording (only briefly) and there was no red circle
with the X warning. (I plan on further testing today).
My question is, why did this happen? My camera is a 1.5 yrs. old but in MINT condition. It has a total of 35 hours on it.
I only use Panasonic 63MQ tape. I baby this thing always. Why would this warning happen?
I will tell you that when I opened the camera yesterday to put in a tape, there was one already inside.
Now, BEFORE you all "torch" me (which I deserve), I do know better and never leave a tape inside the camera after I'm finished.
Obviously, this was an isolated incident which I take full responsibility for but always try and remove tape after filming.
I can't say for sure how long the tape was in there. Possibly 1-2 weeks but the camera has been in it's case and stored inside a climate controlled enviroment.
Could this possibly be the reason for the warning? When I played back the recorded video, it looked and sounded fine.
Is this an isolated incident, a glitch in the camera or ?
Thanks.
Mark
