Red Bull 21 Days shot on FS700 + 7Q

I've been in LA/Tahiti for the past few weeks shooting for a Red Bull surf project called 21 Days. It's a mix of 5D for actuality, then some Epic for archive and the FS7Q For the scene/story telling. Mostly shot 2k raw @ 120fps.

Raw workflow was a little bit slow, as the turn around time was tight for such a small crew but the 7Q performed very well. Everyone was impressed with the IQ.

Next stop Hawaii for another 3 episodes

Not sure if it's the flash player doing something but the video looks very dark throughout?

Nice stuff!

Didn't appear dark to me. Material wasn't all matched to look the same, but then again I think that was more a stylistic choice than anything else.

The grade was quick and dirty TBH. They did it in about an hour whilst waiting for Red Bull feedback. I might take over grading on the next episodes. As for dark, maybe a bit too contrasty but the images looks OK to me. Only watching it on a phone though.

@weasel I do a lot of stuff for Friday (the company that produces this) but usually in Snowboard related content. I've just moved back into surfing after a long break. Hopefully I'll be working on these for the next few series. Really enjoying going to work in shorts and tshirt, quite a novelty for me.

Regarding the 7Q, people were kind skeptical to begin with (especially when the playback was being temperamental) but by the end I the shoot there were a lot of "this stuff is as good as the Epic". Considering the Epic is the bench mark for action sports, that's quite a compliment. Good job CD!

Now if we could just get some HFR 2k ProRes and 4k Prores, this thing will be a production beast!
