Red 18-85 fit F35 without removing parts?

Has anyone tried this combo? I know there are problems with the fat back end of the red 18-50 and 17-50 and requires the tabs be removed from the PL mount. Does the 18-85 have the same issue? Has anyone had a chance to try this lens out on an F35.

The 18-50 fits fine, with no modification. I believe the 17-50, RPPs and the 18-50 can all cause issue with the tabs on the F35's PL mount. I have not tried them however so could be wrong.

I believe modifying it would be easy though, as you just need to file down the tabs. The 18-85 is either a bargain or a monstrosity, depending on how you look at it.

Yes you must remove the tabs to mount the 18-85. Be careful with the alignment of the F35 though cuz as far as I remember if you keep rotating it past the stop it will come off. I got a little scared.

Are you talking about the PL Mount itself?

There's a screw-in stopper that keeps the PL mount from continuing to rotate freely... if you take that post off, you're in trouble.

I couldn´t mount the 18-85 because the tabs on the pl mount would hit on the lens. BUT, I´ve seen different tabs on different F35s so it all depends on what kind you have on yours.

The part of the RED 18-85 that is so fat is just an outer shell housing. If you own the lens you can have it removed and the problem goes away.

Yes but you must remove to tabs so they won't hit the back end of the lens. When the tabs are gone the stopper does nothing useful at all.
