OMG! help me! I was in my TV room with my DVX and was playing around in a low light environment. I had an RCA cable attached to my screen so I can see it on TV. I noticed that the camera was displaying a light "PINK" bar on the TV screen! I then did some tests to make sure wat was going on. Here is a frame grab I captured! I brightened the still in photo-shop to make the pink bar more visible so u can see it!

HELP! Why is my camera doing this!!!

On a NTSC monitor u can see the pink bar clearly. To see it on a computer screen i had to boost the brightness and contrast to see it better!

If you have any glass (filter, WA lens) I would first take it off and shoot the same picture again.

Re: faint rectangle pink bar problem!

its not any glass problem. i did some test yesterday and i started to notice it more. It is soo hard to explain but it seems like this bar is permanenttly burnt in! This retangle pink bar is always in the same place. It doesnt show in bright lit conidtion but on dark colors this bar can bee seen very faintly. to the eye

Re: rectangle pink bar problem!

How does the image look with the lenscap on, and max gain-up?

Re: rectangle pink bar problem!

If you see the artifact, lenscap on, also on the computerscreen (.avi downloaded through firewire) then NTSC and optics are not involved. There must be something seriously wrong with one of yr CCD's (red?) in that case.

Re: rectangle pink bar problem!

Possibly caused by a magnet near the camera.

Re: rectangle pink bar problem!

Magnetic fields have no influence on CCD imaging. Probably there is something wrong with the "dark current" uniformity/correction. I am not familiar with DVX100 but if you could output (in photomode RAW) the RGB colors separately (with lenscap on) then you could maybe pinpoint which CCD shows the artifact.

Re: rectangle pink bar problem!

HOw do i output RGB colors separately?!? In photo shop you can do that right.... i'll do another framegrab with the lens cap on!
