well one of my ssd's got ejected during the process of being safe ejected when I went to dump the footage only got part of the footage!!! it's a mistake but I'm wondering do I need to do recover ssd? or does that erase footage? will this fix the issue? advice please need to shoot with this disk in the morning.

Well just found out recover ssd did just that. fixed that problem. all files copying now. so if any of you make this mistake just recover ssd.

Mitch (if you pop into this topic): I don't know what exactly goes on between the Odyssey and the SSD when you eject or recover, so I'm just making up ideas that may not be feasible, but would it be possible to create apps on the computer that can perform these functions? So if someone is given a drive that wasn't ejected, they could initiate the ejection process with an app on their computer. Or does it need data from the 7Q to close these files?

It really needs to happen on the Odyssey. But I'm glad it worked for you the way it is supposed to.

Put it on a computer and the computer wants to load on some background directory control files, so the Odyssey has to prevent that.
